Why I’m becoming a Hybrid Photographer…

Film film film… Oh how dreamy it looks!

Film Wedding Photographer Texas

As you might have seen on our social media, I’m transitioning into becoming a Hybrid Photographer!

Why do I want to shoot film? For years, I’ve always been in awe of film photographer’s work. No matter how much time I spend in front of the computer trying to edit your digital images to look like film, they will never be exactly the same. Film has so much more to offer; the colors are so creamy and gorgeous, it handles light so beautifully, and it’s incredibly romantic.

I’ve noticed I don’t spend nearly as much time at my computer editing and manipulating images like I had to with digital. With film, I rarely have to edit them! It’s INSANE y’all! They come back so crisp, colorful, and gorgeous without needing help.

When I use film during my portraits, It has forced me to slow down, enjoy every moment with my clients, and make every photo PERFECT. (Every photo I take using film, cost me about $3-4!)

From now on, I will be a digital and film photographer.

Is this going to cost extra or change my investment? This does not affect my current clients. However, I will be shooting minimal film during your portrait sessions and wedding without charge. If you choose to not have any film used, please contact me and let me know!

As for my future clients, we have completely changed our pricing structure and created a guide for y’all! (Use the contact page to request it!)

Does this change my turnaround time and how they are delivered? Yes and no. The turnaround time for portraits will be about 2 weeks, (The day after our session I will mail out the film rolls to my lab which takes about 8-10 days to develop, scan, and send back to me.) and the turnaround time for weddings will stay at 6-8 weeks.

I receive the film as digital form, so you don’t have to worry about handling negatives or anything! You’ll still receive your digital images through the online gallery and on your wedding USB.
